Hisense Group was founded in August 1994 from the previous Qingdao TV Main Factory. In the company’s 30 year history, there were three periods of development: self-independence in the 70’s, technological introduction in the 80’s, innovation and expansion in the 90’s. The company is now a large high-tech conglomerate engaged in manufacturing, scientific research, information software, satellite communication, commercial services, and real estate and the group has overseas operations. HiSense has long followed a development strategy based on high technology, good quality, excellent service and development of a world-renown brand. By concentrating on technological development and brand strategy, through large scale diverse capital operations, HiSense has grown rapidly and shaped a so-called 3C industrial structure in which emphasis is given to household electrical appliances, information, communication and scientific research. Our 7 major products are TVs, air-conditioners, computers, software, telephones, VCDs, DVDs, music centers, cameras and optical and electrical products in over 400 varieties. At present, Group assets total RMB2.18 billion, and sales in 1999 were RMB10.7 billion. HiSense has been listed in China’s top 500 enterprises (in terms of size and profit) for a 9 consecutive years, is the biggest electronics enterprise in Shangdong province, and ranks among the first 10 in China’s top 100 electronics enterprises. There are over 9000 employees in HiSense of whom 42 hold doctorate degrees, 260 hold master degrees and 2498 hold bachelor degrees. HiSense has 5 fully owned companies and 18 majority ownership companies, with more than 60 sales and marketing branches and over 10 thousand after-sales service centers. HiSense has state-level technology centers and first class post-doctorate scientific research centers, and has long-term technological cooperation relationship with the Chinese Academy of Science and famous universities such as Qinhua University, Beijing Aeronautical Engineering University, Xian University of communications, Shandong University, Qingdao Oceanography University and Qingdao University.
