Description and Applications:

GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6) is a 28-amino acid peptide that signals the human
body to begin secreting growth-hormone (GH). Growth Hormone in the human body has host of
beneficial effects such as decreased body fat, increased muscle, and increased strength
and stamina. The Growth Hormone secreted by the body then causes the liver to secrete the highly
anabolic hormone known as IGF-1. IGF-1 also contributes greatly to the body's ability to burn fat and
build muscle. Thus, in several studies, when subjects were given GHRP-6, their muscle mass
increased and their body fat was reduced significantly.

GHRP-6 is one of several synthetic met-enkephalin analogs that include unnatural D-amino acids,
which were developed for their GH releasing activity and are called GH secretagogues. GHRP6 is a
true secretagogue. Which means it stimulates the body's own secretion . Human Ghormone has been shown in studies to promote lean body mass and reduce adiposity (fat). It is now known that these ghormone releasing peptides are distinct from GHRH and do not act at the GHRH receptor, but instead act at the ghormone secretagogue receptor, now renamed as the ghrelin receptor. GHRP6 is a hexapeptide with a chain comprised of 6 amino acids. This special sequence is considered to provide
a signal to the body to begin secreting Growth Hormone release while also blocking Somatostatin, a hormone that inhibits GHormone release.

GHRP-6 causes stimulation of the anterior pituitary gland which ultimately causes an increase in
GH release. Since GHRP-6 acts directly on the feedback loop which signals the inhibition of GH release,
when natural GH secretion has been inhibited by long term synthetic use, GHRP-6 can be used to
re-stimulate the natural production of GH. GHRP 6 also affects the central nervous system, by
protecting neurons as well as increasing strength in a way very similar to the way certain
steroids in the Dihydrotestosterone family do.
