Brake Motor Flameproof Motor T6 Non spoking
Cemp is dedicated to the market of electric motors designed for use in hazardous areas.
Hazardous areas are locations in which an explosive atmosphere may develop under certain conditions.
For example:
 l chemical and petrochemical plants
 l offshore oil platforms
 l oil and gas pipelines
 l ships
 l FPSO (Floating Production Storage Oil)
 l grain handling equipment
 l mines
Cemp Founded in 1954
Two manufacturing units: Senago (MI) 2.500 mq and Paderno Dugnano (MI) 1.000 sqm
42.000 low voltage motors manufactured per year
ISO 9001/2000 Quality certification
Atex Production  Quality Assurance Certificate by CESI
FPSO’s vessels are particularly effective in remote or deepwater locations where seabed pipelines are not cost effective. FPSOs eliminate the need to lay expensive long-distance pipelines from the oil well to an onshore terminal.They can also be used economically in smaller oil fields which can be exhausted in a few years and do not justify the expense of installing a fixed oil platform. Once the field is depleted, the FPSO can be moved to a new location.
Cemp Some equipments:
On cranes: for travel and for lifting purposes;
On Air extraction units, as fans and air conditioning;
On heat exchangers, for liquefaction processes;
On compressors (skids for lubrication of);
On pumps (i.e. ballast pumps or deep well pumps);
On winches (including mooring winches and life boats lifting);
On cabestans;
On electrically actuated valves
On board of FPSO’s we can distinct two main installations:
             Below deck;
             On deck.
The first one is the more sheltered possible, hence only class F temperature rise B windings are suggested, and care of ambient temperatures (often above +45°C) is suggested.
On deck mounted motors, due to a harsher sea-salt environment, and the outdoor typical installation, on above, more precautions are needed, such as:
PTC thermistors embedded in the windings;
Special fancover (longer, to withstand waves);
2RS bearings;
NDE seal ring in Teflon;
Tropicalised winding;
Epoxy painting finish;
Special AISI steel shaft.
Other extras, typical of the driven machines installed could be:
Pumps: locked bearing
Fans: roller bearings for radial loads or w/out terminal box
Heat exchangers: V6 water protection discs
Cranes/winches: high starting torque motors/brake motors
Gearboxes: oil tight flanges
On all: frequency converter driven motors
