Extruder parameters:
(1) screw diameter (DS) : the outer diameter of the screw, usually 60 ~ 150mm, diameter increases, the conveying capacity increases, and the capacity will enhance.
(2) length-diameter ratio of screw L/DS: the working part length to diameter , usually 20-40, large length-diameter ratio, uniform mixing, reducing countercurrent and leakage flow.Plasticizing time is long, such as hard plastic, powder plastic or crystallized plastic, length-diameter ratio required large.Heat sensitive plastic, easy to decompose when heated, need small L/D.
(3) screw groove depth is small, higher shear force is generated, which is conducive to plasticization, but the extrusion productivity decreases.If H is larger, the situation is converse .H change along the axis of the screw.
(4) spiral Angle θ:it’s point the angle of between the thread and the screw cross section , θ increase its productivity increases and its shear effect decreases.It's between 10 and 30 degrees.
(5) thread edge width E: if it is too small, leakage flow will increase and output will decrease;Too big part is going to overheating.0.08 ~ 0.12 DS.
(6) screw and barrel clearance: the size of the extruder affects the production capacity and plasticizing effect.When it is large, the shear force decreases, the production capacity decreases, and the melting plasticization of materials is slow.Too small, strong shear force is easy to cause thermal degradation of materials.
