Berberine Hydrochloride is extracted from the root, bark and root of three wild needle medicinal materials of the plant Phellodendron chinense, and is extracted and refined from pure natural plant medicinal materials without pollution and pesticide residue.It is found in such plants as Berberis (e.g. Berberis aquifolium (Oregon grape), Berberis vulgaris (Barberry), and Berberis aristata (Tree Turmeric)), Hydrastis canadensis (Goldenseal), Phellodendron amurense (Amur Cork Tree, Huang Bai, Huang Po, Po Mu) and Coptis chinensis (Chinese Goldthread, Huang-Lian, Huang-Lien), and Tinospora cordifolia, and to a smaller extent in Argemone mexicana (Prickly Poppy) and Eschscholzia californica (Californian Poppy). Berberine HCL is usually found in the roots, rhizomes, stems, and bark. Nonoxynol 9 is commonly used as a spermicide for external use. The main way of contraception is to kill sperm or cause sperm not to swim by reducing the surface tension of sperm lipid membrane and changing sperm osmotic pressure, so that sperm can not enter the cervix and inability to fertilize an ovum.
