Granular Activated Carbon for Solvent Recovery

Product Description

The granular activated carbon used for solvent recovery is made from high quality anthracite coal as raw material and refined by physical activation method. It is black granular, non-toxic and tasteless, with developed pores, reasonable distribution of three types of pores and strong adsorption capacity. In a wide concentration range, GAC has stronger adsorption capacity for most of the organic solvent vapor. It is widely used in organic solvent recovery, such as benzene, ether, xylene, ethanol, acetone, gasoline, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and so on. Granular activated carbon has the characteristics of high strength, fast adsorption speed, high adsorption capacity, large specific surface area, developed pore structure, moderate pore size, etc.

The solvent recovery process using granular activated carbon is to pass the mixed gas containing organic solvent vapor into the reactor filled with activated carbon. The solvent vapor is adsorbed on the granular activated carbon by the strong selective adsorption capacity of granular activated carbon, and the purified air removing the solvent vapor flows out from the other end of the reactor. After the granular activated carbon is saturated, it stops adsorption and then regenerates. When it is regenerated, water vapor is generally used to remove the solvent adsorbed on the activated carbon, and then the desorption vapor is condensed and the organic solvent is recovered. The regenerated granular activated carbon is dried and cooled for recycling.

The solvent recovery technology of Granular activated carbon is suitable for solvent vapor concentration of 1 ~ 20g/cm3 gas recovery solvent, and its recovery efficiency is more than 90%. The concentration of solvent vapor and the concentration of air mixture can be kept below the lower limit of explosion, so the production is relatively safe. Granular activated carbon has the advantages of low solvent cost, simple process and wide application range.
