Medium voltage cables are large power carriers from electric stations to transmit & distribute further to substations in residential areas. Also used in industries, commercial complexes with high energy requirements. Voltage range includes from 3.6/6 kV to 19/33 kV. These cables are manufactured to international standards including BS, IEC and other national & utility standards.
XLPE is the abbreviation of cross linked polyethylene. In this type of cable stranded aluminum or copper conductor is screened in the form of semi-conductive extrusion providing a smooth conducting surface. The property of high thermal insulation makes it more suitable to use in both high voltage temperature conditions.
