Uniform Thickness Downhole Motor

The Uniform Thickness downhole motor is a new type of downhole motor developed by our company since 2008, based on the absorption of advanced foreign technology. It has obvious advantages in ordinary directional wells and shallow wells, and has shown greater advantages than conventional downhole motor in deep wells, large displacement wells, and short radius wells.

The Uniform Thickness downhole motor has obvious advantages during the application in both directional well and medium-shallow well. Compared to the conventional downhole motor, the Uniform Thickness downhole motor shows its greater advantages in deep well, extended reach well and short radius well application.

The internal of the Uniform Thickness power section ( stator) is processed into a spiral curved surface matching with the rotor, and then vulcanized with rubber, making the rubber thickness uniform and equal. The Uniform Thickness stator coordinating with the rotor composes the Uniform Thickness downhole motor. The Uniform Thickness motor not only enhances the capacity of impact resistance and deformation resistance of the rubber on the stator internal surface, but also avoid the rubber aging and rubber losing problems during the process of vulcanization, achieving the best rubber vulcanization effect, guaranteeing the service life of the Uniform Thickness motor, and improving the deflection angle of downhole motor.

Features of this type motor are with large pressure drop, enough power, low rotary speed and high volumetric efficiency. The pressure drop of each level is 2-3 times than the conventional downhole motor, and the motor volumetric efficiency is 40% higher than the total efficiency of the conventional motor. If this kind of motor is used together with the rock bit, it will apply a higher weight on the bit. The Uniform Thickness motor has small bending radius, large deflection angle, compared with ordinary downhole motor, it has obvious advantages in application in short radius horizontal wells, deep wells, and high-temperature wells.
