Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide that is used as a food additive. Maltodextrin is produced from starch by partial hydrolysis and is usually found as a white hygroscopic spraydried powder. Maltodextrin is easily digestible, being absorbed as rapidly as glucose, and might be either moderately sweet or almost flavorless. Maltodextrin is commonly used for the production of sodas and candy. It can also be found as an ingredient in a variety of other processed foods.
Maltodextrin is low-calorie, good stability, good solubility, no odor, no precipitation. Maltodextrin could inhibit the precipitation of crystal sugar, and it plays an obvious role in anti-sand and anti-molten. Maltodextrin is easily digested and absorbed by the body, and it is suitable for the basis raw materials of food.
