II. Reverse osmosis is the new membrane separation technology which has been developed since 1950s, whose aperture is small, they are almost less than or equal to 10*10-10(10A), it can remove the organic substances of small ion range and molecular weight in the filtrate, such as bacteria, viruses, heat source and so on. It has been widely used in sea water or brackish water desalinization, pure water for electronics and pharmacy, drinking distilled water, space water production, it also can be used in biology, medicine projects. Reverse osmosis is also called RO. With enough pressure, solvent (water)will permeate reverse osmosis membrane(semi-permeable membrane), and separated. Because its direction is contrast to the natural osmosis, we call it reverse osmosis. According to different osmotic pressure of different materials, we can use the reverse osmosis method that is more than osmotic pressure to separate, extract, purify and concentrate.
