Testosterone undecanoate is an ester of testosterone which is used for the treatment in males to treat primary hypogonadism (congenital or acquired) – testicular failure due to cryptorchidism, bilateral torsion, orchitis, vanishing testis syndrome, or orchidectomy and is currently under research for use as a male contraceptive.
Testosterone 500 USP injection provides Testosterone undecanoate, a derivative of the principal endogenous androgen testosterone, for intramuscular administration. The esterification of the 17 – beta – hydroxyl group increases the duration of the action of testosterone.
